How to ‘Marie Kondo’ your event registration - Sprintr

Unless you’ve been trapped in a mine, you’ve probably heard of Marie Kondo, whose approach is to keep your home and your life stripped, simple and uncluttered.

Her mantra is to look at a possession and ask if it gives joy. If the answer is ‘no’ then it’s time to say ‘thanks’ and ‘goodbye’.

How about taking that strategy and adding it to your event registration process. After all, does staffing a registration desk spark joy?

It most likely causes long periods of boredom, irregular spurts of frantic chaos and the inevitable tidying up of the mess caused, before a long night of planning for the next day.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Firstly, it’s possible to change the aesthetic of the registration area and make it look more welcoming by using technology effectively.

Remove trestles, pre-printed name badges and clunky printers, there’s no need for all that unsightly clutter. Instead, have staff with tablets or desks with tablets for self-service. This will give your delegates a greater sense of control, and it will look far better aesthetically.

This control also passes back to you, the organiser. With technology from companies such as Sprintr, you can monitor new registrations and arrivals live, right from your own device. It aims to help delegates through registration with speed and efficiency, which saves organisers time and money.

This allows you to focus on what matters, such as your speakers, press, VIP guests, or even those few visitors who struggle with technology and need one to one help.

So, move to the next step.
